Dr. Angela Bentley
Angela Bentley, DVM, cVMA, graduated with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 2001, then obtained her certification as a Veterinary Medical Acupuncturist in 2015. She joined our company in 2012 at our Pensacola location and was excited to open our new facility here in Pea Ridge in 2022. If you ask Dr. Bentley what her favorite part of her job is, she will tell you “helping pets and their people”. She feels that education and continued learning are the most important aspects of her role as a Veterinarian. When Dr. Bentley is not busy at the hospital caring for pets, she loves spending time with her family, tending to her small farm and gardening.
Dr. Ziegler
Dr. Ziegler joined the team in 2024 after graduating from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She chose Animal Hospital of Pea Ridge because of the focus on exceptional patient care and positive work environment. She has a special interest in exotic animal medicine and is passionate about providing Fear Free care to her patients. She is originally from East Tennessee, but has always wanted to live on the coast. When she is not at work, she enjoys surfing or relaxing in the sun with a good book.
Dr. Trevor Ames
Dr. Ames joined the Animal Hospital of Pea Ridge team in 2025 after graduating from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. He previously worked as a member of the technician team at our Pensacola location and did an externship at Pea Ridge, where he developed a deep appreciation for the compassion, support, and high quality pet care that our team works tirelessly towards providing. His favorite part of veterinary medicine is client education. Dr. Ames is originally from Pensacola, and enjoys spending his free time bowling or at home with his pet chinchilla, Norm.
Trisha Merchant, CVPM, PHR, CCFP
Hospital Administrator
Trisha has been in the veterinary industry since 2000. She joined our team in September 2014. Trisha is a native to the Pensacola/Alabama area; born and raised in Alabama. Trisha’s favorite part of the job is working with the staff to make sure they are educated and have the knowledge to share with clients. When she is not working, she enjoys watching football (Roll Tide!) and spending time with her family. Trisha has 2 dogs (Claire and Roxy), 2 cats (Milo and Waffles) and some grandpets (Scooter, Ivy, Zara, Kylo and Zena).
Austin Zachero
Hospital Manager
Austin is an Alabama native who brought his passion for veterinary medicine with him when he relocated to Florida in 2021. Since joining the team, he has consistently demonstrated dedication, leadership, and a strong commitment to patient care—qualities that have helped him grow into his current role as Hospital Manager. Austin takes pride in mentoring team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, and ensuring that every patient receives gold-standard medical care and compassion. Known for his approachable nature and strong work ethic, Austin plays a key role in supporting both the clinical and operational success of the hospital. He is driven by a genuine love for animals and a desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of both patients and their families. Outside of work, Austin enjoys spending time with his two dogs, Rueger and Kingston, who are always by his side. Whether they’re exploring scenic hiking trails, enjoying the outdoors, or strolling through downtown in search of new spots to shop and unwind, Austin embraces every opportunity for adventure and connection.
